I think a better alternative is tapping the back of the upper radiator hose port on the water pump and threading it for a barb.

As explained to me the purpose was the head is the most likely place for the coolant to boil, gas doesnt transfer heat as well as coolant/water so if coolant boils and cant escape you get a hotspot in the head, so they give the potential gas a place to exit, normally some high on the cooling circuit like the top of the radiator or expansion tank. I think the easy solution would be to block rear and run a single port on the front of the head to the top of the radiator or expansion tank, but with a longer head it could be more important to have the rear functioning also.
Someone on here will respond with a pic and/or part source. Conveniently add a 1/8" NPT port into your top radiator hose. As seen in these photos this kit really cleans up the LS steam vent. You could also use the dorman fitting that ties into the 3/4" heater hose. If I end up with a radiator without a steam inlet, I'll know how to deal with it.

I'm convinced that GM engineers are smarter than me and would have run it to the water pump since it's so much easier if it were a viable option. The bottom hose was a real pain. Had it that way for 7 years as a daily. The end result is a very cool looking LS steam vent line. I ran a 2 port setup IIRC. For some reason I was thinking you were likely going to have the thermostat too low also. What exactly splice adapters (size from-to) from jtr is needed for lsx swap to e36, include steam line? For more recent exchange rates, please use the Universal Currency Converter. I heard it works better if it's routed into somewhere higher, especially to get trapped air out of an engine that's just been filled with coolant.
