Music is powerful stuff, but when it gets over polished, it loses a lot of emotion, especially something like Zydeco music, which is best served up raw. I'm a frog and even I think it's gross. The algorithm isn't perfect, but it does a pretty good job for common-ish words. There is no denying the entertainment value and quality of beautiful films like 'Up' or 'Finding Nemo', Blue Sky's Ice Age films, or Sony's masterful 'Surf's Up'. I had long been curious about this book, as it provided inspiration for The Princess and the Frog, a Disney Animation film that I worked on (and which holds a special place in my heart). I loved how this book took fairy tale conventions and turned them on their heads. You couldn't come up with something more farcical if you tried. In this 1812 Grimm version, after dumping the frog in the forest because, well, he's a frog, and how important can a promise made to a frog be, really, the princess is forced to take the frog to her room. Frog kings are pretty useless at ridin' and huntin' and dancin' and the cuttin'-of-ribbons, and there's not a whole lot else in the job description. The frogs may not be fearsome in the same way that, say, the Beast in the various versions of Beauty and the Beast and East 'o the Sun, West 'o the Moon might be, but promises to them must be kept, a strong message that even promises made to creatures of much lower status (like frogs) deserve the same attention as promises made to those of the same rank (like princes)—a powerful message indeed in 19th century Germany. When everything use to be simple and sweet, I actually enjoy the adventure-love stories, foe example this one. You can't do anything in America today without offending someone, and if you ever do manage to, it will have no soul. She comes with her necklace and tiara which are both a very pretty shade of green with some silver glitter to them. Little does she know that she will meet the love, I mean... the frog.... of her dreams! Old Mama Odie whipping up a vision in her gumbo, is priceless! There is not even a weak attempt at originality here, not with any of the characters now that I think of it.
