You've given me nothing. I closely followed each release that led up to the news surrounding SOLACE and when they announced their shows in Los Angeles along with a full-on tour I was stoked. A reflection of their current sound more than anything, this vocal-driven show only featured a handful of instrumental portions for the crowd to really get down to. Leading the crowd on a journey through their latest releases and hit tracks, RÜFÜS DU SOL perfectly blended the different eras of their sound together to give the show a sense of completion. The band danced and jumped around on stage while we all did the same on the dance floor. I don't know quite what I was expecting but this delivered much more creepiness than I anticipated. The ending is horrific and will shock you. Steeped with action, suspense, and some psychological chills, Fields proves that she is a force to be reckoned with when she puts her mind to it. The narrative approach to this book was a mix of straightforward crime thriller and eerie psychological tale. Connie utilises her profiling skills to get inside the mind of the kidnapper/killer and has a very straight-talking, fearless style to her demeanour. The killer is taking his victims in the coldest, most calculating way possible – engineering slow and painful deaths by poison, with his victims entirely unaware of the drugs flooding their bloodstream until it's too late.
