Any RTV sealant will work, just a light coat on the both sides of the gasket, it won't leak if surfaces are clean. I only use the torque wrench for the head bolts and the nut on the front bearings.
The fine threads more closely match original. Keep in mind you are going into an aluminum cover assembly, torque specs per bolt size and all of that go out the window.!
