I think that the purple wire got grounded when it was against the header and when you hit the starter you had a short through to ground with high current going through the solenoid contacts arcing them together. All fuses seem okay. UNplug the harness from the back of the ignition switch. Now I'm just plain upset. 2016 won't start, keeps cranking even when key is let go. Once the flywheel turns quick enough, it nudges the driver back into the starter motor and the starter motor shuts off. I had this problem but it was caused by the connection of the black wire touching the connection of the purple ( the flat piece that has a hole in it to bolt to the starter was touching the purple). Lly seen where one of the smaller studs on the solenoid would spin and make contact internally, causing power to continue to the starter & engine, so don't rule out the solenoid even if its new. Vette vet... if I was reading it properly, you left out something about the remote starter switch... it'll bypas the whole truck'es electrical system, but unless the purple wire is disconnected from the sstarter, it will not eliminate it from the equation.
