And not this new deposit. When calling the IRS do not choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line. It's nt great news but I at least now know where it came from. I knew I'd get garbage 4 my fed refund just nt how much! My daughter used the same tax service but her refund says IRS refund. I was scared it was my stimulus or something! That deposit description is for users who chose to pay their fees out of the Federal refund, and that payment method does require direct deposit. Hi I went to that site the or whatever it is. To log in go to the site below and choose the "For Taxpayers" portal, then on the next screen choose "Check with TPG. If it turns out that it was the IRS that reduced your refund, then you should get a letter in about 3 weeks or so.
