Mary E. Pearson's Dance of Thieves is a new YA novel in the New York Times bestselling Remnant Chronicles universe, in which a reformed thief and the young leader of an outlaw dynasty lock wits in a battle that may cost them their lives—and their hearts. Unlike the Remnant Chronicles, Dance of Thieves is told from only two POV's, not three. It's sent many generations ago as the world of the Remnant is developing and shapes so much foundation for the series to come! ISBN: 978-0-525-51821-1. I really loved the large, close-knit Ballenger family. Release Date: August 7, 2018. I am so invested in the characters, I can not wait to continue with the other books. I'm very tempted to reread Dance of Thieves just to see if I can pick up on any of the things that are revealed in this book. I'm sure I would have understood better if I read that first, so don't make my mistake. And oh, when I type those last words, THE END, I feel enormous relief--because there are many times when I fear I won't ever get there. Edit: erright people I realize that the majority liked this review because of the reference but pleaseeee give this book a go. Kazi, Wren, and Synové?
These days she continues to live in make-believe worlds she creates in her books. Dance of Thieves really lives up to its name along with the Remnant Chronicles hype. If You Liked Dance of Thieves, I'd Recommend: - Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) by Shelby Mahurin – [ Review]. Check out this review (and more) over on my blog! Jase Ballenger is the new Patrei, head of the Ballenger clan.
Both Kazi and Jase are meant, I assume, to be morally dubious characters. New characters, same setting). My heart was still full of emotions. I really want a prequel novella featuring this past as well now (I'm super greedy, I know). I don't know if it was the reading slump, the school, and its stress, or if it was my fault for not enjoying this book as much as I thought I would have. In the last pages of The Beauty of Darkness did you figure out what poem Lia was referring to? At the same time, Kazi, a legendary former street thief, is sent by the queen to investigate transgressions against the new settlements. ❤️ Jase was a sweetheart. Seconds could change everything. The ending of Dance of Thieves gave us a little glimpse of what was in store, but trust me when I say that you are not ready for what is to come. I mean so many amazing tropes were used here 🥰 Even though it all happened a little fast in terms of page count, I felt like the circumstances that pushed them together still made the romance pacing really believable. That pop up all over this book…much to my sheer delight!!! Dance of Thieves ending question.
"This was more than just making the best of it, this was something taking root, a seed being planted. This book really suffers in the middle, the pace gets slow and the story gets pretty repetitive, I feel like there's a lot of book with little going on. There would be moments that would hook me but then the story would lapse into chapters of filler that didn't need to be there and it took away from the story as a whole. There are ongoing, possibly rogue, threats to their home, city, and trade arena. At the same time, the two only meet because Kazi is on a mission passed down from the main character of the original series, Lia, who readers don't meet until close to the end of DANCE OF THIEVES. Set in the same world as the Remnant Chronicles series, Dance of Thieves is the first book in Mary E. Pearson's spin-off duology that takes place eight years after the end of the Remnant Chronicles trilogy. The plot is meh, other than the enemies to lovers trope there wasn't much else that was interesting. I'd love to hear what you think of Mary E. Pearson's world and characters! It was one of the reasons why I kept reading dance of thieves. Ask the Author: Mary E. Pearson. And her secrets, combined with Jase's commitment to his family, threaten to tear the two apart at various moments of the story. As unexpected events spiral out of their control, bringing them intimately together, they continue to play a cat and mouse game of false moves and motives in order to fulfill their own secret missions.
I was feeling super nostalgic the whole time reading this book and I'm so grateful to Mary Pearson for bringing us back! You can learn more about Mary and her books at You can learn more about Mary and her books at Ratings & Reviews. But a new era looms on the horizon, set in motion by a young queen, which makes her the target of the dynasty's resentment and anger. The writing: I love Mary E Pearson's writing style. The captors as a group purposely lead their captives through an old battlefield so they can watch the former deserters among them fear for their lives, as they believe the dead rise from the ground to take deserters back to the underworld. They believe the captain who betrayed Morrighan is hiding there under the protection of said family. Her latest 2-book series, Dance of Thieves, allows her do all kinds of dangerous things without breaking any bones. It was great to see more of this world beyond just Morrighan, Dalbreck, and Venda.
The rest of the characters were also great, specially Synové and Wren. And it helps that the male characters in this world are SO swoon-worthy!!! This question contains spoilers... (view spoiler) [Hello Mary! I did really like the ending. How am I to wait an ENTIRE YEAR???! Also, you'll have a connection to the familiar faces (Lia, Rafe, etc. ) Teens become astronauts in record time for an inaugural space mission.
There is always more to learn. I adored Pearson's writing in the Remnant chronicles. Incredibly shrewd and calculating (the makings of a great Slytherin, yes? I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK! The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles #1) by Mary E. Pearson. Probably one of my favorite books I've read, if based on the writing skill. That cliffhanger 🥲. Und auch wenn "Klang der Täuschung" in meinen Augen nicht ganz an die originelle Genialität von "Kuss der Lüge" heranreicht, wurde ich in keiner Weise enttäuscht. She lived during the Komizar's rule, when thief lost fingers when they were caught. Kazimyrah is the legendary street thief known as 'Ten'.
Writing is rarely easy, and I have to learn to push through the doubts. If you loved the Kiss of Deception books, I don't think you will be disappointed. Well i dont freakin care!! This is just one of those stories that really gets everything right. The Ballingers were awesome, and I loved Kazi even more than Jessilea (sorry if names are misspelt, I listened to this story! ) "It's awkward, isn't it? " His finger stroked a line down the center of my chest. Also, any reasons why you set it there? And sometimes I feel surprised, like someone else has written a scene and I am caught off guard as I watch it unfold, or a detail that I thought was unimportant suddenly is crucial to the plot. Although there are definitely aspects of miscommunication that is easily the result of some of their frustrations.
