I can be the voice of newer community members. I've taken advantage of every relevant Minnesota School Board Association training. Occupation: School Volunteer; Lawyer. After several years teaching and organizing on behalf of NYC public school families, I sought and gained admission to UCLA Law's Public Interest and Critical Race Studies programs, to obtain training to better advocate for communities in need.

We should give everyone the opportunity— through annual surveys, widely publicized town halls, or some other broad-based feedback method, including in languages other than English— to have their voices heard and to allow them to represent themselves in their own words. These two things go "hand-in hand". I want to do what I can to support our teachers, janitorial staff, food service workers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and other staff members by appreciating their contributions and making sure they have what they need to be successful as they do the honorable work of serving our students day in and day out. I have taken on many volunteer positions along the way including Chisago Lakes PTO treasurer, Chisago Lakes School Finance Committee member, Chisago County Extension Committee, Founding member of the Chisago Lakes Youth Livestock Foundation, Chisago County Fairboard secretary, and treasurer for the MN Federation of County Fairs. Another goal of this district must be to prudently manage and administer our tax dollars allocated to education. I have a wealth of hands-on experience and am ready to continue to listen, learn and work to improve our school district to be the best it can be.

These skills, along with my empathy for each child, are needed to face the District's challenges. Students in Oregon graduate with approximately one year less of actual instruction time as does much of the rest of the country.
I am very proud of the work that the LegPol Subcommittee and BLM Taskforce has done while I served as co-chair and as a Board member, and I look forward to continue working with both committees in 2023.
