Trans pushed back and hit crossmember thats right under the Air bag ECU. I did not check the steering wheel buttons and now I realize the top buttons of the picture have no tactile click and are not functioning. It's not a stupid question if you don't know the answer. Sorry, too new, haven't seen or read about that issue before. Pay attention that this is not easy to remove as it's well fixed, and pulling it harder than it should may break it easily. It happened after the dealership fixed the vanos bolts(recall). I do no work on my own car... These new air bags are touchy, it's safer to take it to someone who knows more about it. You don't mention the switches not being lit up. But, that's only one piece of the puzzle. He's changing the air bag ECU, has the key on and using a impact driver to loosen the torx bolts. If someone knows the parts for this module and maybe a way of getting them for less money, I would appreciate that. To make sure you are doing the measurement properly, please also measure pins 6 and 5 (the one circled in red and the one next to it, circled in yellow) while pressing the other button ("MODE") on the module, that you know it works. So i took it to the dealership and they told me $300 which was a nice surprise, i decided to take it to my regular mechanic and he said he could get it done for $150. I also looked in the column to looks for anything visually obvious like loos harnesses or broken wires. I did take it to a local mechanic who confirmed the connectors and fuses were fine. Happened to a friend of mine in a U-turn. Trusty hydraulic press to the rescue! There was a bit of damage done to the diff, but it wasn't too bad. I recently bought a new cv axle, steering knuckle, hub, & bearing to install on the passenger side of my 2013 st3, but my friends and I have ran into a small issue during the reassembly. Me thinks the backyard mechanics have missed something. I thought it was an issue with it lining up inside the trans but when you turn the rotor the passenger side wheel turns as well. I just got done with a clutch install and Im trying to get the axles back in the trans. Grasp the inner joint and see if it can be moved back and forth. With the subframe removed I was certain I had enough room to cut the CV shaft on the passenger side and push it through the oil pan. What causes cv axle to go bad. Last post by khnitz «Replies: 8. Are you having a hard time getting the circlips on the end of the CV axle to seat, or is it another problem. If I lift that wheel high enough to make the axle straight, I can get it to come out slightly more, but it won't go back in any further than that. What did surprise me is how much room I had with the subframe removed! If so, then it's going to get involved. Cv axle wont go on strike. Busted the carrier ring off, pushed out the pin from the diff, and finally had access to push instead of pull. I've removed everything including the strut to get a clean clear straight shot to "float" it in. Once you get the slipping one in properly check your work on the other axle too. I'm so relieved.... there are no words.
If splines are not lined up exactly then I would have a very difficult time getting it back out. What am I missing???? Have a small lift on it which is pushing the bottom of the strut into the dampener on the axle, but the rest went in fine so doesn't seem to be the issue. New tranny is in and installing stuff on top tonight (Water pump, Pwr steering, A/C, etc). Luckily my commute to work is about 1 mile. I normally undo the struts and use the hub as a "hammer" to jam the axle in. A lot of people skip this step but a little grease on those spring clips goes a long way towards avoiding issues like this. What a long drawn out reminder to NEVER surrender the old part until you know for certain the new one fits! I would chuck up a big drill bit that can just fit with some tape wrapped around to make it snug then turn it say 50-60 rpm like driving slow highway speeds just to make sure it didn't get damaged from the binding and pounding. Sometimes the clips can prevent the shaft from being pushed into the transmission completely. Back again with the back up lights. I've tried turning both the axle and the diff to see if it had to be realigned and it didn't help. Audi 4000CS Quattro Sold. Sometimes the shaft will get jerked around during installation, causing the joint to come apart inside the boot, where it's likely to go unnoticed until the car won't move a mile down the road.

I was pretty convinced I was gonna have to buy new everything, saving bits unfortunately wasn't top of mind. I guess I'm not pushing the axle in hard enough, it just seems like it is taking quite a bit more effort than my girlfriend's Civic's axle, but idk that was awhile ago. Just got done changing the hub assembly on the driver's side on my 2012 Rav. I had suspecdted the circlip so took it off and the axle slid into place, attempted to bend it down a bit but wasn't successful - didn't put it on from the end though so will give that a try. Quick help needed thanks. I've hit it pretty darn good with a 3lb.
