I do wonder if Alessandra's issues are deeply rooted towards her mother's death. I would have loved if he had been just a little older, a little more lonely (that sounds so cruel as I type it) but I think it would have made it all the more sweeter if or when he gives in. It's quite the introduction to main character, Alessandra.
Let me tell something straight away: the writing was good, the universe was interesting. Or rather, Xanthos, the kings brother!
