Shouldn't Wang be held accountable for ignoring the alarm and letting him die? While she did delve into the agonised suffering that Soo-hyun undergoes—being a divorcee, or getting involved in all sorts of politics, you name it—-her acting became entirely too restrained after a point. That Winter the Wind Blows started off with an incredibly poetic aura about it. In Sung, you can trick me into falling in love with you anytime.
So yes, I love the ending! I came across the show That Winter, The Wind Blows while looking for something to watch. The show was a bittersweet slow burn of a romance, but Song Hye-kyo once again, was fading to the sidelines despite being the main lead. It has a very common story but I think what made it really addictive is the chemistry between the leads and their best acting talents in a melodrama. This includes providing, analysing and enhancing site functionality and usage, enabling social features, and personalising advertisements, content and our services. I always liked tragic outcomes, but this time, both the hero and heroine went through so much hardship that I thought, It would be nice if they could be happy. It's stunningly breathtaking visuals were matched by both the deep and intriguing writing and the powerful performances of its lead actors.
I thought I'm gonna fall in love with Oh Soo right at that moment:). She played a blind woman who needed to be both strong and vulnerable. Yet, there's one particular standout role, back in the 2014 show, That Winter, The Wind Blows. Encounter with Park Bo-gum was a far more mature story, where she plays a CEO, struggling with herself on a daily basis. From his acting to eye contact and his facial expression. D. Did Jin Sung have to kill Oh Soo so that the truck barreling towards his family would suddenly change course? I wish I can speak Korean. And Song Hye Kyo had a difficult task. I wanted the writer dead as well. Her personality, as vivacious and intriguing as it was in the beginning, witnesses a slow decline till she almost becomes a plot device to further Si-jin's narrative. G. Young's brain tumour was inoperable but they operated anyway.
Oh Soo's death would have made more sense, but they made him alive which leaves one question, what happened to his problem with President Kim?? I love the house, snow and the greenhouse very much. The last drama that I saw Kim Bum was Boys over flowers. Everybody in the show's Facebook page was like, "Did Oh Soo (the lead actor) die? You don't need to be in the CIA in order to solve cases. During the course of 16 episodes, you'd find yourself falling in love, then heartbroken, reaffirming the strength of friendships, angry, vengeful, shocked, depressed, shocked again, heartbroken again, shocked one more time before finally falling back in love for, what one would hope, the last time. It's truly soapy in the end, and for those who cherish such melodrama, it's actually more enjoyable than DOTS. DOTS stretched the limits of believability in every possible way and showed heart-warming nuances of Song Joongki's Yoo Si-jin, but somewhat failed to give Song Hye-kyo the same character development. Jo In Sung and Song Hye Kyo are stunning people on their own, but together they are a feast for the eyes. The last one I watched was good, but the ending sucked too. It was an emotionally draining melodrama, but well worth it. You just need to be in a drama.
That Winter, The Wind Blows actually shows character development and healing for a rather complex character, something that Song Hye-kyo didn't witness in DOTS or Encounter. Superb acting from Kim Tae Woo as Moo Chul. Over the holy week break, I spent the entire four days just watching the 15 episodes of this Korean show. The mystery behind every single character's true motives.
I may get some answers to these questions the second (or third, or fourth) time around. "But you, Young, became the last reason for me to live like a human being. Genre: Melodrama, Romance, Chaebol, Rich Girl Poor Boy. They've been through emotional hell and we've experienced them going through that emotional hell. But hopefully, this Review will be just as satisfying as the show's ending, in spite of its perplexing nature. She falls in love with the feisty employee Jin-hyuk, a man younger than her, and together they navigate the minefield of their relationship. H. Suddenly we all are just expected to get over Wang's obsession with Young? I tried so hard to like Hee Sun and Jung Eun Ji but failed. I think he played the carefree yet intense thug fabulously, and transitioned flawlessly into someone who is both on the brink of salvation and poised to save another.
I'm glad this drama granted me my wish! I have no words to describe how perfect he looks. All photo credits: SBS]. I think this calls for a re-watch. For the non-spoilery First Impression Review, click here. And before this drama, I had no experience with Jung Eun Ji's acting.
Such beautiful OST that set the stage for the breathtaking cinematography. I watched the last episode over and over again, lol! They're confusing me. I noted in my First Impression Review that the most important aspect of her performance as Oh Young was that she gave the character sincerity.
I already have my favorite actors and actresses; albeit, I don't know their names. We seldom see shows that have main actress as a blind lady. Suggest an edit or add missing content. And several times during those final two episodes, it really did seem like everyone was either going to get killed (stabbed, most likely) or kill themselves. Kim Bum as Park Jin Sung. Jin Sung could've easily been just a mere loyal sidekick, but I believe Kim Bum was able to take the character to a deeper level. I can tell I am hooked on a drama when I'm compelled to marathon-watch it, I need a few weeks to recover, I developed an obsession with a character or actor, and I have the OST on repeat. She wants to die, while he is doing his best to live, and their bond, strange as it seems at times, heals them both.
I think Ji Sung and Hee Sun were just really talking about bringing flowers to Oh Soo, and that's that. But as viewers, we need to root for him to get the girl he truly loves too. It was their performances that did it. Together, they rescue refugees, battle bomb blasts, operate on Prime Ministers and survive earthquakes, and somehow manage to have an enthralling romance. I'm a firm believer that fans want real romance and a happy ever after from the leads more than the characters' chemistry onscreen. In Sung biting the inside of his mouth while deep in thought or trying to keep his head above his heart is incredibly adorable. All eliciting reactions of disbelief, but at the same time, incredibly being totally predictable, knowing that with the exception of Moo Chul, everyone else had a pretty good chance of surviving. It's ironic that Song Hye-kyo, one of the faces of the Hallyu wave, doesn't truly get the credit she deserves in most of her shows. The series had some impeccable dialogues that kept its storytelling afloat, and most of them belonged to Song Hye-kyo. I was majorly confuse throughout it. Look for the contradiction.
I would have liked to see more of his backstory: his family, his history with Oh Soo and Hee Joo, and why he's going about getting his revenge the way he did. Later, Oh-soo falls in love with her, of course. You needed that sincerity to understand her relationship with Secretary Wang and you need that sincerity to understand her relationship with Oh Soo, the two main threads of the series. Oh-soo is just as much of a mess—but spending time with this unusual woman, changes him a little. Though she was referring to the head games between Soo and Young, you could just as easily apply that to the torturous experience between the show and its viewers. We had to believe his loving treatment of Young wasn't just to get her in his good graces, but that he's truly fallen in love with her.
