SO I order a cluster from EBay. Physically stuck needles: Analog instrument clusters have moving needles, like the one you see on the speedometer. Since you said it worked again after switching the key off and on while rolling along kinda makes me think it had a microprocessor glitch or something. Thank you kindly for your ideas....
In the previous post I had thought about mentioning that microprocessors are susceptible to power surges..... I cant say any particular thing makes it turn of more. Bumps, heat, cold, ect don't seem to play a big factor. Electronic instrument clusters require accurate inputs from the sensors to work problem-free. Print the booking confirmation email. I will do a cluster self diagnostic test and check the fuses. When I accelerate hard my gauges & radio shut off & comes back on. Connectors that are either loose or have come unplugged are easy to fix and are part of what you need to check when doing a simple circuit trace. Well, yes it did happened before, but the alternator problem has been solved for a while already, almost a year now without any issues after I have replaced the alternator cable with a gauge 4, if you remember. I cleaned it anyway with electrical contact cleaner. Without it, you won't know until it's too late. Radio was resetting often for about a 't done it lately. Then start wiggling it to see if you can recreate the problem. The fix for that problem is simply replacing the speedometer cable, which involves unbolting it from the transmission, disconnecting it from the instrument cluster, and sliding it through the firewall.
