My only issue was that I felt there was a lot of information/parts of the book that weren't necessary. Therefore, I was excited to learn that Mad Honey was coming out and that she had co-written it with Jennifer Finney Boylan. You can tell a ton of research went into writing this, including the fascinating pieces of bee history, which were completely unknown to me! So, there were no bees left to tell. Who killed lily peter. Lily stays home sick for three days and Asher decides to come visit her. Olivia's story is moving forward at the same time the reader is learning what led up to the day of the murder.
And thank you to the authors for your important work and dedication to this novel. I am such a huge Jodi a Picoult fan and this one felt like a classic one for her style. I love how well she is able to weave current events and news into her stories. But is he like Olivia? As the trial is underway, a key fact is revealed: Lily was transgender. If you are up for a novel that will challenge your ideals, confront any hidden prejudices you may have, and change your perspective, Mad Honey is a must read.
